Embedded UPS for network switches
EF6012 and EF9012 add reserve power to network equipment using external lead-acid batteries. Using this instead of the original power supply, gets rid of excess conversions to AC and the accompanying energy loss. This means battery life is longer. Also, the UPS occupies no cabinet space.
EF6012 easily charges a 12 Ah battery, which will last for a several hours. For EF9012 optimal battery is — 30 Ah, but it's possible to decrease charge current for a smaller battery — there is a switch for it.
UPS charges a battery in CC/CV mode, as recommended by the lead-acid battery manufacturers. It prevents overcharging as well as deep discharge. In the case of a critical discharge, the device switches off and will switch on again when a fresh battery is connected or the AC appears. Recommended battery types: SLA (VRLA) AGM and GEL.
UPS fits most devices perfectly, replacing stock power supply: mounting holes and jacks match.
