Embedded UPS for Edge-Core ECS4120-28F
Backup power from an external battery 12 V

How does it work?
UPS EF9012 is installed inside the network switch instead of the native power supply. It simultaneously powers the equipment and charges the battery. In the absence of 220 V, it switches to backup power from the battery imperceptibly for the equipment. Backup time depends on battery capacity, for example, 12 V 7 Ah will provide more than 2 hours of backup time for the Edge-Core ECS4120-28F.

Is it safe?
In telecom equipment with 12 V power, voltage controllers on the board have an input range from 10 V to 15 V, electrolytes are set to 16 V, while the output voltage of the UPS when a battery is charged has up to 13.8 V, which is within the permissible limits. We use high-quality components, on the level with the original power supplies: Nippon Chemi-Con, Texas Instruments, Diodes, Infineon Technologies, Sharp, etc. Uninterruptible power supplies EF9012 are designed specifically for installation in switches, routers and OLTs. Since 2015 they have been working with hundreds of models of equipment from different manufacturers (Alcatel, BDCOM, Cisco, C-Data, D-Link, Dell, DCN, Edge-Core, Foxgate, Huawei, HP, Linksys, Planet, Raisecom, TM STELS, Zyxel).
What are the advantages of an embedded UPS?
- Backup power from an external battery 12 V (7 Ah ~ 2 hours ... 100 Ah ~ 48 hours for ECS4120-28F).
- Saving space by installing the UPS inside the equipment.
- Charge in CC/CV mode, protection against deep discharge or overcharge the battery.
- Efficiency up to 98 % due to the absence of double conversion (12 V →
220 V→ 12 V) when working from a battery. Accordingly, the reserve time is longer.

What is required to install the UPS?
No need to drill or cut anything. We took care of everything.
List of components:
- UPS EF9012 - 1 pc;
- Installation set KIT-ECS4120-28F - 1 pc;
- Battery 12 V - 1 pc.
Screwdriver and 20 minutes of free time.

Installation sequence:
- Unscrew the bolts, remove the cover and take out the native power supply.
- EF9012 fits perfectly, replacing stock power supply: mounting holes and jacks match.
- Connect the adapters to the appropriate connectors as shown in the above photo.
We recommend you make note (by adding a sticker) of the green outlet. There is a UPS installed inside, and this connector is now used to connect a 12 V battery.

If necessary, the original power supply and connector can be put back in place.
In what other equipment can an embedded UPS be installed?
This installation setup is also compatible for network switch DCN S5750E-28X-SI-24F-D/E.
Check the compatibility of embedded UPS with other equipment.
